Use this selection guide to choose a laser therapy device for your need.
Which problem areas of the body will you treat?
The wavelength of the laser therapy device determines the range of tissue penetration in the body. The wavelengths available for Theralux laser therapy devices are 635 nm, 660 nm, 808 nm, or 904 nm.
600–660 nm are best suited for the treatment of skin and mucous membranes.
805–830 nm are best suited for the treatment of tendons and muscles.
Wavelengths of 904 nm and higher are best suited for treating joints, tendons, and bones.
A pulsed laser beam also influences the depth of tissue penetration.
Our 660 nm and 808 nm laser therapy devices are Continuous Wave (CW) pulsed lasers that you can pulse by determining a frequency between 1 and 55,000 Hz or choosing pre-programmed frequencies suitable for laser treatments (Nogier or Bahr).
904 nm laser therapy devices are super pulsed lasers. You can also use frequencies by determining a frequency between 1 and 55,000 Hz or choosing pre-programmed frequencies suitable for laser treatments (Nogier or Bahr).
What size animals will you treat?
For DT Go laser therapy devices, our range includes treatment heads of various sizes. You can change treatment heads according to the size of the animal and the size of the problem area in the body. Theralux Touch TX4 has one treatment head (with four laser diodes) that can not be changed.
The area of one (1) laser diode treatment head is 1 cm2.
The area of four (4) laser diode treatment heads is 10 cm2.
The area of six (6) laser diode treatment heads is 15 cm2.
You can use a small treatment head to treat large body problem areas, but the treatment will take longer than with a bigger treatment head. For example, with a six-diode treatment head, you can treat the same problem area of the body more than 30 percent faster than with a four-diode treatment head.
In addition, the power of the laser diode influences the duration of the laser treatment. In Theralux laser therapy devices, the power of one laser diode is 50 mW, which means that, for example, the total power of a treatment head with four laser diodes is 200 mW, and that of a treatment head with six laser diodes, 300 mW. More power in your laser therapy device helps you to treat quicker.
